In week 11s lesson, I learnt of the different electronic
payments, benefits of e - commerce, technological limitations, lack of accepted
security standards, insufficient telecommunications, expensive accessibility,
non - technology limitations, unresolved legal issues, slack of critical mass
of buyers and sellers. One of the first things we learnt was what organizations
use their websites for which is to Sell goods and services, induce people to
visit physical locations, reduce operational and transaction costs and enhance
reputation. Learning of the different types of e - commerce was informative as
I know it may help me with starting a business one day, since technology is
rapidly growing, e - commerce and learning of its types is an advantage. Another key point which
stood out to me was learning about the degree of digitization, the extent to
which commerce has been transformed from physical to digital. I also valued
learning the different e - commerce business models such as online direct
marketing, affiliate marketing, viral marketing and electronic tendering system
marketing. All this information is helpful as it adds to being a knowledgeable
user in a generation where technology is slowly taking over.
