The summary notes that I read on the slides assisted me with understanding chapter 5 and completing the learning objectives as I learned a lot about Business Intelligence. Applications, methods, and procedures targeted at obtaining, storing, accessing, and analyzing data to support improved business decision-making are referred to as business intelligence (BI). Management is the use of resources to accomplish organizational objectives; decision-making, on the other hand, is the process of selecting options, which becomes more difficult and time-sensitive as it goes on. Technology is essential because information and decision-makers are dispersed. Understanding trends, behaviors, and patterns is made easier with the use of decision support systems, data mining, and multidimensional analysis. Information system dashboards provide easy access to management reports and real-time data, showcasing important insights with visually appealing graphics. By presenting crucial success criteria and key performance indicators (KPIs), they simplify the decision-making process.

Dashboards help team members collaborate and communicate more effectively, which promotes a more productive work atmosphere. Furthermore, they facilitate competitive analysis by offering choices for bringing in outside data. All things considered, dashboards improve organizational performance and facilitate well-informed decision-making in a range of business settings. Reality mining and geographic information systems (GIS) both use location-based data to provide perceptive analysis.
